There are specific blinds for certain rooms that cater for the conditions and conservatory blinds are no exception. In comparison to bathroom blinds that are designed to exist in damp conditions, conservatory blinds are designed to maintain comfortable light and temperature.
The potential expense of furnishing a conservatory can catch many people out. It is often the case that the furnishings cost more than the conservatory itself. Conservatory Blinds, in particular, can be very expensive so it is vital to make the right choice and know what is needed and what the correct blind is. The three most common types each have their own strengths.
The most traditional style of conservatory blinds are french pinoleum blinds. Pinoleum is the name given to strips of thin wood which are used in a woven pattern, these are also known as Roman blinds. One of the great qualities of a pinoleum blind is that it will allow a diffused light into the conservatory which provides a very attractive feature. However, the downside is that maintaining the temperature is that much harder without the reflective properties of other blinds. However, it is possible to attach a reflective material to the outdoor facing part of the blind, but then the pleasant light effect is lost.
Pleated conservatory blinds are probably the most attractive. Usually available in a huge range of colours and fabrics with a modern elaborate look. Pleated blinds offer a credible alternative to pinoleum blinds. Pleated blinds are very versatile and can be used in any style of conservatory and also can be made with reflective material. This will help to maintain a more constant temperature. Pleated blinds can be made to your own specifications, although this will obviously be more expensive.
The most versatile style of blind is the roller blind. Certainly not as attractive as the other styles such as pinoleum or pleated blinds, even so they do offer a very practical solution. Roller blinds come in either standard sizes or made to measure or it is possible to tailor them yourself. Very easy to clean as they normally synthetic -- this just adds to the effectiveness. Roller blinds can easily be made from reflective material to help keep the conservatory warm in winter and cool in the summer.
